YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Singer Checks In From U.S. Tour

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN frontman Doogie White (ex-RAINBOW) has posted the following message on his web site:

"Having a day off so I thought I would give you all an update."

"Well, Hurricane Wilma came in and created havoc in Miami, cutting the power and ultimately cutting rehearsal time for the band. It was kinda creepy to be in total darkness from 7pm to 7am with only police sirens and gunfire to break the monotony for three days. The rooms were opened using a power operated key mmmmmmm, so it was with some relief when we finally left. Only to return four days later to pick up more Marshall heads that we had to leave behind as no one had power to open the repair shop doors. "The good thing is I got a very nice 335 (copy) and Yngwie insisted I learn 'Wring that Neck'. Guitar lessons from the maestro for free, learning [The Man In Black]'s licks. Cooool... Sorry maybe I have been in America too long, Doood.

"The tour is progressing well and starting to pick up speed after a cancellation in West Palm Beach, FL due to damage caused by Wilma. Joakim Svalberg's replacement on keyboards, Nik Marinavich, is handling the difficult task very well but we did play in St Petersburg as a four-piece as he had to return to Miami in a hurry. Reactions to the new songs from 'Unleash the Fury' have been positive and the audience age group ranges from 9 or 10 to 60 so it very varied and that is a good sign. Looks like we have a show with TWISTED SISTER and SEB BACH so maybe him and I can do some 'Jesus Christ Superstar' songs together."
