YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Frontman Checks In From New York City

November 26, 2005

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN frontman Doogie White (CORNERSTONE, ex-RAINBOW) has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Yesterday: Thanksgiving; Today: George Best died.

"Well, here we are... New York City, a very fine city indeed. We have two days off and I am going to walk the streets of this city and soak up the atmosphere. It is freezing and has been pretty much since we came to the East Coast.

"The shows have been getting better and more intense. What amazes me is that people are prepared to stand outside in the cold for a glimpse of Yngwie. The outbreak of flu that has been going round the camp show no sign of abating.

"Last night I caught up with former RAINBOW bandmates Greg Smith and Chuck Burgi who are performing on Broadway in 'Moving Out'. We had a great old evening and a good old chat. Chuck is now drumming for BILLY JOEL. Well done, doctor...

"We now have seven gigs back to back down the East Coast. This will be the longest run of the tour."

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN is touring in support of his two new projects, "Unleash the Fury" and "Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra" DVD.

"Unleash the Fury", which hit stores July 26 through Spitfire Records, has been receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike and has even been hailed as one of his best works to date. Also released this year was Yngwie's long-awaited "Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra" DVD, which was filmed in 2001 with the New Japan Philharmonic, conducted by Taizo Takemoto. Malmsteen has performed his concerto suite live with an orchestra just seven times. An interview with Malmsteen is included as a special bonus feature.
