May 13, 2007

After owning the car for nearly 18 years, legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen has decided to put his black Ferrari up for auction. According to a posting on the eBay auction page, "The automobile is Yngwie Malmsteen's personal Ferrari, his 1983 GTS QV (Quattro Valvole) It has true spoke Borrani knock-off wheels with brand new B.F. Goodrich tires. This vehicle also has a near new $5000.00 custom Connolly leather interior and a new Alpine AM/FM CD player. The Sony CD changer that you see on the passenger side of the console in one of the photos was removed and the wires visable under the dash above it are no longer there.

"History of the Automoble: In 1989 Yngwie was in the process of recording the 'Eclipse' album when he saw this Ferrari in the showroom of Prestige Imports in North Miami Beach, Florida. This dealership is a seller of only the best high-end, blue-chip automobiles. With only 23,000 miles on the clock Yngwie had to have it, so he walked in, paid cash and drove it out. Since then this car has been the center of his fanatic love for the Ferrari marque! He has owned this car for approximately eighteen years. The odometer now shows approximately 53,000 miles on it. The vehicle has been garage kept and has received service and maintenance through world recognized Ferrari ace Tim Stanford FNA-certified and of Tim Stanford Foreign Cars Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, servicing Ferraris since 1967."
