YAKUZA: Release Date Set For 'Samsara'

November 17, 2005

Prosthetic Records has set a March 7, 2006 release date for the new album from the Chicago-based experimental jazz/metal quartet YAKUZA, entitled "Samsara".

"Samsara" was self-financed, then shopped around to various labels in search of a partnership with a company that fully understood YAKUZA's foresight.

"Samsara" was recorded by Matt Bayles (ISIS, BOTCH) at Volume Studios in Chicago and hosts a wide variety of musical guests including pianist Jim Baker, cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm, Sanford Parker and Troy Sanders (MASTODON). "Samsara" is full of peaks and valleys, overly aggressive in some spots, mind-trippingly mellow in others. The contrasting soundscapes come together impeccably, creating one of the most all-inclusive albums since PINK FLOYD's classic "The Wall".
