YAKUZA: New 'Samsara' Release Date Announced; Audio Available

January 10, 2006

Prosthetic Records has pushed back the projected release date for the new album from the Chicago-based experimental jazz/metal quartet YAKUZA, entitled "Samsara", to March 21 from the previously announced March 7.

"Samsara" was recorded by Matt Bayles (ISIS, BOTCH) at Volume Studios in Chicago and hosts a wide variety of musical guests including pianist Jim Baker, cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm, Sanford Parker and Troy Sanders (MASTODON). "Samsara" is "full of peaks and valleys, overly aggressive in some spots, mind-trippingly mellow in others. The contrasting soundscapes come together impeccably, creating one of the most all-inclusive albums since PINK FLOYD's classic 'The Wall'," according to a press release.

"Samsara" was self-financed, then shopped around to various labels in search of a partnership with a company that fully understood YAKUZA's foresight.

"Samsara" track listing:

01. Cancer of Industry
02. Plecostomus
03. Monkeytail
04. Transmission Ends...Signal Lost
05. Dishonor
06. 20 Bucks
07. Exterminator
08. Just Say Know
09. Glory Hole
10. Back to the Mountain
