WITHERED: New Song Available For Streaming

"Extinguished With The Weary", a brand new song from Atlanta's blackened doom heathens WITHERED, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The lead track from group's upcoming album, "Dualitas", due October 26, was recently launched as part of the new "Metal Swim" collection, presented by Scion A/V and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and is available exclusively as a free download on AdultSwim.com/metal.

Guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson commented on the track: "We chose [to release] 'Extinguished With The Weary' [as the first song from the new CD] because this song really showcases some of the newer styling to be experienced on 'Dualitas'. It is actually the last song we wrote for the album and we always have a tendency to gravitate towards our newest music when given a choice. We are always looking ahead. This song in particular deals with this same concept. It is about letting go of your emotional and moral foundation. Casting away all the conditioning forced upon you by society, family, friends, etc., so you can redevelop your own reality and approach to life. It's about finding the freedom to, and eliminating any fear of, establishing a pure existence for yourself without repercussion. Also, it's really heavy and nasty; a really good listen."

The CD and vinyl versions of "Dualitas" will have different covers, both of which were created by Paul Romano (MASTODON, TRIVIUM, THE ACACIA STRAIN),who also did the cover for WITHERED's previous LP, "Folie Circulaire". A brand new song will launch next week.

WITHERED's third album (second for Prosthetic Records),"Dualitas" was recorded by KYLESA's Phillip Cope at the Jam Room in Columbia, South Carolina.

Prosthetic has launched a pre-order for the album at the label's official webstore.

The vinyl version of "Dualitas" will be a 500-piece limited-edition gatefold double-LP set on 150-gram wax, which contains the exclusive 33-minute instrumental track "Dwell".

The band will be hosting a "Heavy Metal BBQ and Listening Party" on Sunday, September 26 at 5 p.m, at the Masquerade in Atlanta. This is a free, all-ages event which will feature free food and giveaways.

WITHERED will support DANZIG on this fall's installment of the "Blackest Of The Black Tour" and then joining up with labelmates SKELETONWITCH and LANDMINE MARATHON for the "North American Skullsplitter 2010 Tour".

WITHERED appeared on the "Blackened Fest" in 2009 with MAYHEM, and also toured with WATAIN, MARDUK and appeared at 2009's inaugural Scion Rock Fest, along with SKELETONWITCH, MASTODON, TORCHE and more.
