WINTERTHRALL Hard At Work On Debut Album

June 21, 2005

WINTERTHRALL, the Orange County, California-based doom/death metal project featuring drummer Rob Alaniz (NOCTUARY, ex-RISE, ex-EVILDEAD),guitarist/vocalist Steve Nelson (NOCTUARY),bassist Ruben Lugo and guitarist Elizabeth Schall, have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We have been ensconced at Shiva Industries Studio in Santa Ana, CA hard at work on the debut full-length with Sir-Loin John Haddad at the helm! Steve and Ruben were in the studio two weeks ago and this past weekend it was Lizzie's turn. Everything is sounding amazing so far. All we need to do now is finish up some keyboards, and leads, then Steve has the arduous task of vocals!

"Tentatively titled 'Nightmares for the Sleepless', the CD will feature 10 to 12 tracks, including 'The Audient Void', 'Blood From A Broken Wing', 'Standing In The Light Of A Failing Sun', 'Edifice Of Betrayal', 'Cycles Of The Flesh', 'In Frozen Apathy', 'Malevolence', 'By The Will Of The Night', and from the demo re-worked versions of 'The Nightmare Passages', 'Dreams To Dust', '...And The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing', and 'Autumn Caskets'. We also recorded two covers (BRUTAL TRUTH and CARCASS) which may or may not end up on the CD as bonus tracks. From the looks of it so far, this will not actually see the light of day until sometime in the fall but, it will certainly be worth the wait! I guarantee it....

"In the meantime, We're playing a backyard party!! It's somewhere in Norwalk, CA, just east of L.A. on Saturday, July 2nd. We'll put up a flyer soon with all the details. We are also playing later in the month on the 23rd at the Return Of Darkness And Evil fest. This will be in L.A. as well at the Westchester Bar and Grill — it marks the debut of old-school trash/deathsters NECROPHAGIA to the West Coast. Try to come out!"
