WINTERBORN: 'Farewell To Saints' To Receive European Release Via MASSACRE RECORDS

February 19, 2009

WINTERBORN, the self-proclaimed "coldest Finnish heavy metal band," will release its second album, "Farewell to Saints", in Europe (outside Finland) on April 24 via Massacre Records. The CD was issued in Japan on November 19, 2008 through Marquee/Avalon.

Commented the group: "It's really nice to finally get the album out for real. The release in Japan few months ago did release the pressure a bit, but this is what we were waiting for. Our fans in Europe finally have a date of release and they can go out and by the album they have so eagerly waited. There has been some frustration amongst the fans lately, but now it pays of. We want to thank all our fans for their patience with this one. I just hope they find the album was worth waiting for. In the meantime, we have two songs now on MySpace from the new album that people can listen to get a taste of what's coming. The two songs are from the heavier part of the new album. Unfortunately, things in Finland seem to go really slow for us. The negotiations with Finnish companies seem to take a lot of time, lot more than we expected. But we are determined to find a good partner here so we haven't rushed it. Hopefully we have some news about Finland's release pretty soon too."

WINTERBORN's debut album, "Cold Reality", was released in 2006 through Massacre Records.

WINTERBORN is:

Teemu Koskela: vocals
Pasi Vapola: guitar and backing vocals
Jukka Hänninen: keyboards and backing vocals
Pasi Kauppinen: bass and backing vocals
Lauri Bexar: drums
Antti Hokkala: guitar and backing vocals
