Will METALLICA's Concert In Bangalore Go Ahead As Scheduled?

The big question now, with the organizers of METALLICA's concerts in India facing the heat and key equipment damaged, is what will happen with the METALLICA show that is scheduled to take place Sunday (October 30) in Bangalore? Sources tell IBN Live that the gig is on, with the bandmembers due to arrive in Bangalore tomorrow. The concert is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and preparations are on for the event. Meanwhile, fans are still lining up to buy tickets and hoping that the show will take off in Bangalore against all odds. Watch a short TV report from IBN Live below.

According to DNIndia, fans from around the country have decided to shuttle buses to Bangalore to catch tomorrow's concert. Cities like Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Chandigarh are witnessing quite a good number of people registering for a bus shuttle journey where fans can travel together to see the show.

When asked whether he expected this kind of response from all over the country, Sandeep "Sandy" Suvarna, who co-conceptualized the idea, said, "The love for METALLICA transcends generation gaps, and for people who are not into the rock scene, it's difficult to realise what the phenomenon is all about, or the numbers of rock fans in India. They'll be amazed at the kind of responses we've got."

Four people, including a top official of the company organizing the METALLICA concert in Gurgaon (a suburb of Delhi),were sent to six days' police custody after being arrested early Saturday on charges of cheating and breach of trust under section 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code, Station House Officer Jagdish Prasad said.

The police allege that the organizers oversold Friday's concert beyond its 25,000 capacity at the Leisure Valley Park in Gurgaon's Sector 29 and that the authorities were never informed before the cancelation was announced.

The organizers have said all ticket holders will be refunded. They said full-page advertisements on refunds will be put out in the next 24 hours explaining all the details.
