WHITESNAKE's COVERDALE, ALDRICH To Attend SWEDEN ROCK Kick-Off

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale and guitarist Doug Aldrich will be making an "exclusive appearance" at the Sweden Rock Festival kick-off on December 2 at Nalen in Stockholm, Sweden. At this event the first batch of bands booked for next year's festival will be announced. Scheduled to perform at the show are HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, WOLF and HARM'S WAY. In addition, a one-off all-star band has also been put together featuring:

* Udo Dirkschneider - Charismatic U.D.O. and ACCEPT singer
* Ryan Roxie - Guitar player and founder of ROXIE 77; also played with bands like ALICE COOPER, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, ELECTRIC ANGELS etc.
* Oscar Dronjak - Guitarist in Swedish metal merchants HAMMERFALL
* Janne Stark - Guitarist in OVERDRIVE, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH and MOUNTAIN OF POWER
* Mia Coldheart - CRUCIFIED BARBARA guitarist, now sharing vocal duties and backing vox with Udo
* Nalle "Grizzly" Påhlsson - Handles the bass in TREAT and ZAN CLAN
* Ian Haugland - EUROPE skinsman takes a day off from the ongoing EUROPE tour

The band will perform 5-6 metal classics. The whole event will be filmed and streamed on the Sweden Rock web site, www.swedenrock.com.

WHITESNAKE will release a new live record entitled "Live… In The Shadow Of The Blues", on November 27 in Europe via Steamhammer/SPV Records. The set includes almost all the remarkable hits from WHITESNAKE's career, as well as two timeless DEEP PURPLE classics in "Burn" and "Stormbringer". Coverdale was the frontman of the legendary British act between 1973 and 1976, making a significant contribution to numerous PURPLE highlights during this era. "Live ... In the Shadow of the Blues" also includes four previously unreleased tracks in "Ready to Rock", "If You Want Me (I'll Come Running)", "All I Want Is You" and "Dog", eagerly awaited by all WHITESNAKE fans. The strictly limited version of the double album will be available in a top-quality digipack, featuring a number of surprises, among them the bonus track "Crying in the Rain", including a haunting drum solo by drum legend Tommy Aldridge.
