WARBRINGER Rejoined By Original Bassist

August 21, 2009

Los Angeles thrashers WARBRINGER have parted ways with bassist Ben Bennett and have been rejoined by Andy Laux. Andy played on the group's debut, "War Without End", but was unable to join his bandmates for any of the touring due to him still being in high school. Now with his studies complete, Andy has been focusing on sound engineering and even built his own home garage studio.

Andy, who is committed to touring and recording with WARBRINGER, commented: "After parting ways with WARBRINGER a year-and-a-half ago, I never would have seen this coming but circumstances have left the band in need of someone to handle bass duties. When I was asked to fill the position, how could I refuse? The members of WARBRINGER are my good friends and (literally) my family, so the choice was obvious, I look forward to catching up with the fans, seeing some familiar faces, but most of all thrashing every venue this side of the solar system!"

Guitarist, and older brother, John Laux added, "I'm happy to have my brother back in the band and to share some of the experiences I've been able to witness firsthand. The band has decided to part with bassist Ben Bennett due to a few serious personal and offstage issues we've encountered on the road. We thank him for all his contributions to the band, the album and the touring and we all wish him the best of luck with any future endeavors."

WARBRINGER will play a couple of shows in Mexico on August 28 and August 29, before hitting the road with OBITUARY, GOATWHORE, KRISIUN and THE BERZERKER starting September 3.

Bunch TV conducted an interview with WARBRINGER when the band played the Rock Am Bach festival, which was held July 10-11, 2009 at the Zeltpalast in Merzig, Germany. The clip — which includes performance footage — can be viewed below.

"Waking Into Nightmares", the sophomore album from WARBRINGER, sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Waking Into Nightmares" was released on May 19 via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by Zack Ohren (SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH) and the cover artwork was created by esteemed artist Dan Seagrave (MORBID ANGEL, ENTOMBED).

WARBRINGER's new album was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with axeman/producer Gary Holt (EXODUS).
