VOODOO SIX To Release 'Fluke?' In October

September 6, 2010

VOODOO SIX, the British hard rock band formed by ex-DIRTY DEEDS bassist Tony Newton, will release its new album, "Fluke?", on October 18 via Powerage Records. The CD was engineered and produced by Tony Newton and was mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, METALLICA, AEROSMITH).

"Fluke?" track listing:

01. Take The Blame
02. Something For You
03. Take Aim
04. Like The Others Did
05. Killer
06. Underneath My Skin
07. Live Again
08. Body & Soul
09. Mountain
10. Doing Me Wrong
11. Long Way From Home

VOODOO SIX's first album, "First Hit For Free", was released on Universal Music in Japan in 2007 and in the Europe on White Knuckle/Locomotive Records in March 2008, with a new song, "Faith", added and a brand new remix by Fraser. Following the album's release, the band toured extensively in the U.K., gaining new friends and fans everywhere they played. Summer slots at the Download and Bloodstock festivals followed these dates. Then a full six-week headline tour of the U.K. in September 2009 ensued before the band travelled on to Europe where they were the opening act for reformed Boston rockers EXTREME in October/November 2008. 2009 saw the band playing at the Hammerfest in March and followed soon after by a sold-out performance at the Scala in London for their homecoming end-of-tour gig after a hectic twelve months of almost non-stop touring. In April 2009, vocalist Luke Purdie replaced Henry Rundell. Hailing from a blues/rock background, Luke had been playing guitar and singing since he was 10 years old and toured the world in his parents' band when he was 15. His distinct vocals and remarkable voice fit perfectly with the VOODOO SIX sound, bringing rockier and raunchier vocals to the lyrics. A digital EP was released in March 2010 — "A Little Something For You". To tie in with this, VOODOO SIX played their first live shows with the new lineup, in London and Southampton — both sold out. On the strength of this — and with the support of Planet Rock radio — VOODOO SIX was then asked to be special guests on THE UNION (Luke Morley) U.K. tour and UFO on their European tour in March/April.
