VOMITORY: Studio Update

December 15, 2003

Tobias Gustafsson, the drummer for the Swedish death metal act VOMITORY, has posted the following studio update on the group's official web site:

"Our fifth album, 'Primal Massacre', is now taking its shape! We (Ulf - guitars, Henrik Larsson - producer, and me) arrived at [Studio Kuling in Örebro, Sweden] on Sunday December 7th, set up the equipment on Monday and spent several hours waiting for studio equipment that our producer, Henrik Larsson, had ordered from a rental company. But due to their incompetence, it showed that they had sent the equipment to the wrong part of the country! So the whole Monday was a waste of time, but on Tuesday we managed to get killer drum sound without that equipment, so we began recording without it.

"Tuesday, Wednesday and a few hours on Thursday were spent on recording the drum tracks, and everything went pretty smooth. Ulf and Henrik spent the rest of the day and half Friday on getting a good guitar sound, by experimenting with different amps, mikes, boxes, devices, blah blah blah... Erik (bass & vocals) and Urban (guitar) arrived to the studio this afternoon and while Ulf and Henrik were sweating in the control room, the rest of us had a few beers watching the CANDLEMASS DVD in the relaxation area. We called it a day at 15 past 10 in the evening, and by then we were all real tired, so we cancelled our drinking session with Lord K Philipsson of THE PROJECT HATE. Our deepest apologies goes out to him. Revenge next weekend, bro!

"Today (Saturday) Erik and Ulf have recorded bass and guitar on some more songs, and things are going as planned. Everything sounds really great and we'll probably quit a little earlier today to indulge in the bottles of whisky Urban brought to the studio!"

As previously reported, VOMITORY are currently seeking a new vocalist as a result of bassist/growler Erik Rundqvist's decision to focus solely on his bass-playing duties. Erik will still lay down the vocals on the forthcoming VOMITORY album and will continue to play bass for the group. Interested parties can contact the band at [email protected].

"Primal Massacre" is due on April 19, 2004 through Metal Blade Records.
