VOLBEAT Named Danish 'Hope Of The Year'; Band To Perform At ROSKILDE FESTIVAL
Denmark's VOLBEAT won the "Hope of the Year" award at the Steppeulv awards, which were held Saturday (Jan. 28) in Copenhagen. The awards show is arranged by the Association of Danish Music Critics who hand out prizes to a number of artists who deserve extra attention. In addition to the honor, publicity and the prestigious figurine, VOLBEAT will also get to play at this year's Roskilde Festival, set to take place June 29 – July 2 in Roskilde, Denmark.
VOLBEAT's debut album, "The Strength, The Sound, The Songs", was released in September 2005 via the Mascot Records subsidiary Rebel Monster Records. The CD was recorded at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR) and contains re-recorded tracks from the group's two demos, as well as several new songs.
