VOIVOD To Support OZZY OSBOURNE In Canada

March 5, 2003

Long-running Montreal metallers VOIVOD, featuring former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted, will support OZZY OSBOURNE on his upcoming tour of Canada, according to Chart Attack. Also appearing on the bill will be FINGER ELEVEN.

As previously reported, the tour will kick off in Van City the first of June and will end in Quebec City on the 16th, just in time for Ozzy to start headlining the U.S.-only Ozzfest, which begins June 28 in San Antonio. The Toronto show will be on June 11 at the ACC and tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon via Ticketmaster with a price tag of $59.50 a pop. Tickets for all other Canadian dates don't go on sale until March 15.

VOIVOD's thirteenth album, simply titled "Voivod", was released yesterday (March 4). Ozzy's new two-disc Best Of CD, "The Essential Ozzy Osbourne", hit stores on February 11, featuring over two and a half hours of pure, unadulterated Ozzy. FINGER ELEVEN are currently working on a new album at a Chicago studio and they recently appeared on the "Daredevil" soundtrack with a new song, "Sad Exchange".
