VOIVOD Jam Out On The PISTOLS At Debut Reunion Gig!

Three members of the current incarnation of VOIVODvocalist Snake (aka Denis Belanger),guitarist Piggy (aka Denis D'Amour) and drummer Away (aka Michel Langevin)will perform a 30-minute set of SEX PISTOLS songs at Montreal's Foufounes Electrique on December 30th as part of a bill that will feature 10 local acts playing covers. VOIVOD will reportedly be joined by the bassist from GROOVY AARDVARK for their set at the event, dubbed Mages Loco (check out flyer for the show at this location),which will include performances from the following artists:

GROOVY AARDVARK covering JANE'S ADDICTION / D.R.I.
OVERBASS covering MINOR THREAT / BAD BRAINS
ANONYMUS covering SLAYER / METALLICA
RAID covering RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
BODYBAG covering LED ZEPPELIN
VULGAR DELI covering VENOM
VOIVOD covering SEX PISTOLS
WD-40 covering MISFITS

Also appearing on a smaller stage at Caf lectrique will be:

EL COLECTIVO playing Latin & Reggae standards
SABBATH CAF acoustic tribute to BLACK SABBATH

VOIVOD's performance will mark the first public appearance of the group since the return of vocalist Snake to the band's ranks earlier this year. VOIVOD is presently writing the material for their upcoming studio CD, which is scheduled to include an appearance by former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted. A late 2002 release through Century Media Records is expected.
