VOIVOD Issue Official Statement Regarding NILE Tour Cancellation

October 19, 2002

As first reported here two weeks ago, VOIVOD have now officially confirmed their non-participation in the upcoming North American tour headlined by NILE.

"VOIVOD will not be part of package tour in January," begins a statement on the group's official web site. "They will tour sometime after the release of the new CD March 4, 2003. The recording of the album is the priority and with the recent addition of [former METALLICA bassist] Jason [Newsted] as a full member, [they] need to focus on re-launching VOIVOD. We regret any inconvenience this may cause to the agents, promoters, bands and fans."

In other news, VOIVOD have posted another video as part of the ongoing "studio diary" via the Chophouse Records web site at this location.

"Away continues to kick maximum ass tracking drums, laying down the foundations of 'The Multiverse'," states a message on the Chophouse site. "We're all really excited about hearing the beginnings of the new VOIVOD sound. It was another 13-hour day...maintaining the daily working schedule that starts at 11:00AM and finishes at 12 MIDNIGHT."
