VIPER Parts Ways With Guitarist

September 10, 2007

Brazillian metallers VIPER have parted ways with guitarist Val Santos. According to a posting on the group's web site, Val's "departure was due to professional differences and his wish to stop touring and work as a music producer. The band goes on promoting the new album, 'All My Life', and rehearsing for the Brazilian tour, which will feature the guest guitar player Marcelo Mello."

VIPER recently released its new album, "All My Life", following an 11-year hiatus. The current VIPER lineup is rounded out by Ricardo Bocci (vocals),Pit Passarell (bass),Felipe Machado (guitar),and Renato Graccia (drums).

VIPER was vocalist André Matos' (ex-ANGRA, SHAAMAN) first band. He makes a guest appearance on "All My Life" in the track "Love Is All". Check out audio samples at this location.

Brazil's TV show "Metrópolis" (on TV Cultura) aired an interview with VIPER and André Matos on August 21, 2007. The four-minute clip, which includes performance footage, can be viewed below.
