Former MORBID ANGEL vocalist/bassist David Vincent teamed up with renowned guitar legend Danny B. Harvey (HEADCAT, THE 69 CATS) to debut their new "Texas music" collaboration on April 30 at Austin's premier honky-tonk venue, The White Horse. The band performed as-yet-unreleased original songs along with a selection of outlaw country classics.
Video footage of Vincent and Harvey playing a song called "Drinking With The Devil" — which Vincent wrote — can be seen below.
Vincent previously joined Harvey on stage on January 22 at the NAMMJAM 2016 at the City National Grove Of Anaheim in Anaheim, California to perform a cover version of "Big River" by Johnny Cash. Vincent also teamed up with Harvey on January 9 at The White Horse in Austin to sing another country song David wrote, "Buyer Beware".
Vincent issued a statement last June confirming that he was no longer working with MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth. He said: "Trey and I have accomplished amazing things together over the past 30 years and I wish him the best with his future projects. Out of respect for the legacy of these accomplishments, I encourage MORBID ANGEL fans to not take sides, because I am not." He added: "I look forward to sharing my new endeavors with all of you in the near future."
MORBID ANGEL's controversial 2011 album, "Illud Divinum Insanus", which incorporated industrial and electronic elements into the band's traditional death metal sound, marked the group's first CD to feature Vincent since 1995's "Domination".
