September 7, 2006

VENOM's previously announced September 7 headlining appearance at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey has been cancelled. No further details are currently available.

VENOM performed the following set at the Irving Plaza in New York City on Tuesday (September 5):

01. Black Metal
02. Welcome To Hell
03. Bloodlust
04. In Nomine Satanas
05. Antechrist
06. 7 Gates Of Hell
07. At War With Satan
08. Resurrection
09. Countess Bathory
10. Burn In Hell
11. Warhead
12. Metal Black
13. Die Hard
14. Witching Hour

VENOM kicked off its "American 10 Commandments Tour" on August 24 at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona. The group's current trek marks VENOM's first shows in the U.S. since 1997, when they made one-off appearance at the Milwaukee Metalfest. According to one BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor who attended the tour kick-off, "The show was awesome as hell, but had to be a bit of a disappointment to VENOM due to low turnout. The Marquee Theatre holds about 1,000, and I've heard estimates ranging anywhere from 250 to 400-500. Either way, VENOM played like it was a sold-out arena show."

VENOM's new album, "Metal Black", was released in North America on April 4 via Sanctuary Records. The CD was mixed at the Townhouse Studios in London and contains 14 new songs.

VENOM recently recorded a session for the BBC at London's Maida Vale studios. The session, which was broadcast on Radio 1 on April 11 during Mike Davies' "Rock Show", marked the second BBC recording by VENOM since 1985, when they laid down four tracks for Tommy Vance's "Friday Rock Show".
