VELVET REVOLVER Frontman Discusses JOHN VARVATOS Ad Campaign; Video Available

A behind-the-scenes video clip of VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland talking about the photo shoot for clothing designer John Varvatos' spring 2007 ad campaign — featuring VELVET REVOLVER — has been posted online at this location.

In other news, WeilandtoldJames Patrick Herman of In Style at Clive Davis's annual pre-Grammy blowout on Saturday (Feb. 10) that he is designing a collection for Hugo Boss.

Weiland is not the first member of VELVET REVOLVER to have an interest in fashion. Drummer Matt Sorum recently enlisted several of his bandmates and rock musician friends to help promote his new clothing line. Sorum started the brand, called Sorum-Noce, with partner Max Noce last fall. Now the official Sorum-Noce web site features photos of VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash, VELVET bassist Duff McKagan and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell modeling the company's apparel.

The Norwegian web site of VELVET REVOLVER's record label is now listing June 4 as the international release date for the band's second album, "Libertad", which would make the North American arrival date June 5. The site previously listed a mid-May release date for the disc. The label has not yet announced any official release date for "Libertad".

VELVET REVOLVER has been recording "Libertad" since the beginning of 2007 in a Los Angeles studio.

The group is tentatively scheduled to visit South America in April with AEROSMITH, followed by a U.S. theatre tour in May.
