VELVET REVOLVER Enlist Drummer MARK SCHULMAN For OZZFEST Dates

August 16, 2005

VELVET REVOLVER have enlisted veteran drummer Mark Schulman (CHER, STEVIE NICKS, SHERYL CROW, FOREIGNER, BILLY IDOL, STEVE STEVENS) to fill in for injured Matt Sorum during the band's upcoming Ozzfest trek. VELVET REVOLVER are currently utilizing the services of Brian Tichy (OZZY OSBOURNE, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, PRIDE & GLORY) as a temporary replacement for Sorum, but due to Tichy's prior touring commitments with BILLY IDOL, Brian will be unable to make the Ozzfest dates.

According to Schulman's official web site, Mark will taking over the drumming duties for VELVET REVOLVER beginning with the August 20 show at the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. It is not presently clear how many of the Ozzfest dates Schulman will play before Sorum — who suffered a fractured hand as the result of a recent boating accident — is able to resume touring with the group.

Sorum is currently in physical therapy and was previously expected to rejoin his VELVET REVOLVER bandmates on the first date of Ozzfest (August 23 at the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, NM).

As a result of Sorum's injury, VELVET REVOLVER were forced to cancel an appearance on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live".

The group's latest single, "Come On, Come In", was recorded for the soundtrack of the movie "Fantastic Four" and is the first new VELVET REVOLVER tune since the group released their debut album, "Contraband", last year.
