VANGUARD: 'Whisper' Video Posted Online

May 5, 2009

"Whisper", the debut video from Finnish dark gothic metallers VANGUARD, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's critically acclaimed sophomore album, "Hydralchemy", which has just been released in the U.K. and Ireland by Shadow World Records. The limited-edition digipack of "Hydralchemy", the highly anticipated follow-up to 2005's "Succumbra", offers ten fresh VANGUARD tracks, and an alluring cover of TYPE O NEGATIVE's "Black No. 1". Produced by drummer Tonmi Lillman (SINERGY, AJATTARA, TO/DIE/FOR),the CD — which was released in Finland earlier this year — is described in a press release as "a sinful testimony of VANGUARD at its best. It blends dark metal riffs, beautiful melodies, woeful cello, catchy choruses, seductive female vocals and manly growls into a lethally addictive absinthe feast."

VANGUARD gained fame by winning Wacken Open Air's band contest, which resulted in a recording contract and a number of high-profile shows in Finland and abroad, including Wacken and Tuska Open Air.
