VADER Schedules 25th Anniversary Concert In Warsaw

January 23, 2008

Polish death metal veterans VADER will celebrate their 25-year anniversary with a special concert at Stodola Club in Warsaw on August 30. Also scheduled to appear are GRAVE (Sweden),NILE (U.S.),ROTTING CHRIST (Greece) and KRISIUN (Brazil).

Commented Mariusz Kmiolek of Massive Music, which is organizing the gig, "Hopefully the venue will be completely packed this day. There are at least a few good reasons to come to this special show. You will see a bunch of famous metal guests, also bands that in the '80s together with VADER created extreme metal scene. The guest list we've created is quite impressive. Unfortunately, some of them can't appear on the show due to their other obligations. Some of them are maybe too big to be a part of this, I would say, pretty uncommercial event. That's also why we decided to organize this anniversary at Stodola Club; it will be a show for most dedicated VADER maniacs. Anyhow, you can expect a great package!"

VADER will play a two-hour-plus set, featuring songs from old demo tapes as well as the more popular tracks from the group's recent studio albums. The show will be filmed for an anniversary DVD, tentivately titled "XXV" (to be released in 2009).

Added Kmiolek: "This time we can promise you a very special release. We don't want to screw up things as it happened with our latest DVD. To refresh the entire concept of a metal DVD we decided to work with people who have never filmed a metal show. They have a great experience in making video clips, TV programs, advertisements and other things. Those fresh ideas blended with our visions will guarantee something really special. The DVD will feature not only a show, but also a lot of backstage footage including many surprises."

VADER will prepare not only a special live set, but also a special stage design and other surprises. More information will be made available soon.

VADER released its latest DVD, "And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw", in Europe on October 15, 2007 via Metal Mind Productions. The group's third DVD, which was made available in North America via MVD, features footage from the band's February 12, 2007 concert at Stodola Club in Warsaw, documenting the final stop of the group's tour in support of their latest album, "Impressions in Blood". The show was filmed with seven cameras and includes a guest appearance by Orion, a member of two other great Polish metal acts: VESANIA and BEHEMOTH. The DVD also includes: a fully animated menu, band bio, discography, interview with frontman Peter, the brand new video clip "Sword of the Witcher" (taken from the forthcoming RPG game "The Witcher"),desktop images, photo gallery, weblinks, and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. "…And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw" DVD is also available in a special DVD+CD limited swing case edition! The artwork and layout of the DVD was created by the Brazilian artist Marcelo HVC, who has previously worked with GORGOROTH, LORD BELIAL and NECROPHAGIA.

A preview of the "And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw" DVD in the form of the track "Helleluyah!!! (God Is Dead)" is available below.
