VADER Frontman Checks In

June 4, 2007

Polish death metal veterans VADER have just returned home from Germany, where they appeared at three festivals: Sundown (May 25),Rock Hard (May 26) and Hellraiser (May 27).

Commented VADER frontman Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek: "With the shows in Abtsgmund, Gelsenkirchen and Wurzen we started the festivals in Germany. Three really great hits in the land, where metal lives since many years. The opening fest in Schwaebisch Land took place at the same area where Summer Breeze fest in previous time. Very professional organization, great atmosphere and weather were a guarantee of an awesome concert. So was it!!! After over 20 hours long way from Poland we had a few hours in hotel to relax... and then we struck hard from the stage with no mercy in down light. We were one of few extreme playing hordes and the response was at least same extreme good. A couple of thousand hungry freaks had their 'piece of meat.' We woke up at 6:30 and we had over half thousand kilometers to Gelsenkirchen. Rock Hard is an awesome metal mag and also great festival!!! A lot of fans came to this amphitheatre localized by the Rein Canal.... We played in second day when DEATH ANGEL, AMON AMARTH or Ross the Boss from MANOWAR were headlining acts. Folk/metal bands or Scandinavian styles seemed to be a bit weird company for us. They all had real tremendous response indeed. However, after VADER entered the stage all fans welcomed us great!! And such an atmosphere was till the end of our performance. We re-entered the stage twice yet. The response from our friends (dudes from KREATOR were there as well),press and, first of all, metal freaks was so great indeed!!! Then we spend almost an hour at the autograph and photo session with fans and then the rain took command. We drove to hotel and went to sleep. Breakfast at 7:00 and next 600 km to go. This time to the east — Leipzig and 'good old Hellraiser!!!' Vito and his wife are so much dedicated to metal since so many years. They organized open air fest for 15 years' Hellraiser anniversary. We played on last day of the festival as one of 'main dishes' of the evening. There was great — as always in Leipzig!!! Even total storm, which started just after we entered the stage, had not destroy the great atmosphere of the show. We played bonuses and left the festival area and the storm left with us. There's nothing like good spent weekend amongst great metal freaks!!! We're coming back soon."

On June 15, VADER will kick off another leg of the Summer Bloody Summer tour, appearing at such festivals as the Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, Hellfest in France, Peace And Love festival in Sweden, Tuska festival in Finland and Hard Rock Laager festival in Estonia.

VADER filmed its February 12, 2007 at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland for an as-yet-untitled DVD, to be released in October via Metal Mind Productions.

VADER entered Hertz Studio in Poland on March 15 to re-record 25 of the best songs from their entire discography for a 25th anniversary release, to be issued in 2008. The set will also include a DVD containing tons of bonus features, such as archival recordings, live shows, video clips and other special material.
