ULI JON ROTH To Host 'Legends Of Rock' Concert To Benefit Italian Earthquake Victims

Former SCORPIONS guitar legend Uli Jon Roth will host a Legends Of Rock concert on June 7 at Stazione Birra in Rome, Italy to raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in the region of the city of L'Aquila, which was largely destroyed. Uli will share the stage with a variety of artists, including Tobias Sammet (EDGUY, AVANTASIA),Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY, ex-HELLOWEEN),Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON),Carl Palmer (ELP),Kee Marcello (ex-EUROPE),Jack Miele, Pino Scotto, Osanna, Luca Poma, Michael Ehre and Don Rox.

The 2009 L'Aquila earthquake was an earthquake of 6.3 moment magnitude that occurred in the central Italian region of Abruzzo on April 6, 2009, following a series of about a hundred minor tremors since January 2009, including a 4.0-magnitude one on March 30. The majority of the damage occurred in the medieval city of L'Aquila (capital city of the Abruzzo region) and the surrounding villages. 297 people are known to have died, making this the deadliest earthquake to hit Italy since the 1980 Irpinia earthquake.
