ULI JON ROTH: First SKY ACADEMY 2007 Details Announced

January 16, 2007

Uli Jon Roth's (ex-SCORPIONS) production manager Jeff Agins has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"After the success of the inaugural Sky Academy last year, we wanted to come back in a big way. Sky Academy 2007 will be just that!

"When planning this year's Sky Academy, we wanted to go beyond what was accomplished last year. Uli's teachings were well received and students benefited in ways that were unimaginable. The three 'Uli Jon Roth and Friends' concerts that were held in conjunction with the Sky Academy were talked about for months afterwards!

"Last year's Sky Academy was held on the campus of UCLA. Their staff was phenomenal, working hard with us even though we at times were demanding! The theater was great and gave us plenty of room host the event. However, certain logistics exist that make it difficult in using that facility on an annual basis.

"When searching for the ideal location [for this year's event], we needed a facility that would accommodate our long schedule with the daytime classes and the concerts in the evening. Not to mention adequate parking for students and guests.

"In Los Angeles there are many theaters and such venues to choose from, but after several conversations with the staff at Musician's Institute, it was soon clear that this is the place. Not only were they intrigued, but behind the idea 100%. It didn't take long for the planning to come together.

"What better place to hold such an event but at a school that has launched so many careers in music!

"We are pleased to announce that the West Coast Sky Academy is scheduled for August 22 - August 26. The much-talked-about 'Uli Jon Roth and Friends' concerts series will be August 24 and August 25. The venue for Sky Academy 2007 is the main auditorium at Musician's Institute. Tickets for the 'Uli Jon Roth and Friends' concert series go on sale Tuesday January 16, 2007."
