UK's BLACK SWAN Festival Cancelled

August 29, 2008

The UK's Black Swan festival — which was scheduled to take place September 27, 2008 at Bath Racecourse (with performances from MAYHEM, LORDI, CROWNING GLORY, SPEARHEAD, DISCHARGE and the UK SUBS) — has been cancelled. The festival organizers have issued the following statement regarding the matter:

"It has come as another massive blow to us, we have had to cancel Black Swan festival due to one of our major financial backers pulling out for personal reasons, which I cannot disclose. This was unexpected, to say the least, and at this late date it is far too late to amend or pull any other stops.

"This is the not the first bump in the road we have had; in fact, it has been a total nightmare to try and keep this festival together, with one problem after another. This one has finally knocked us down and we are not getting back up from it.

"If you have been with us from the start, then you will already know this.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you all. We are gutted to say the least. It could have been a great day.

"I can and will tell you that there will be no Black Swan festival next year, or any other year, for that matter, as financially, physically and mentally, this has drained us, and as I said with out our backer we can no longer proceed with this project."
