UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER On ACCEPT's Comeback CD: 'I Wish I Had 10 Years To Write A New Album'

May 9, 2011

In a brand new interview with Greece's Metalpaths, former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. frontman Udo Dirkschneider was asked to comment on ACCEPT's latest studio album, "Blood Of The Nations", which marked the band's first release with new singer Mark Tornillo.

"The new album of ACCEPT is a good production, it's a good album, and, of course, I expected a good album of ACCEPT," Udo said. "I mean, they had enough time to compose a new album over 10 years. I wish I had 10 years to write a new album. But they had quite good success and what can I say?! They can be happy [about it]."

Metalpaths' entire interview with Dirkschneider can be streamed using the audio player below.

In a December 2010 interview with Taipei Metal, ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann stated about the band's decision to reform in May 2009, "[Mark] walked right in and we had no songs for ACCEPT. But then we produced an album, we toured in 17 countries, we played in living room size clubs to headlining huge festivals in Europe including playing with AC/DC. No one could ever have foreseen that no one! We have a very cool record company who is at our side all the way and we entered high in the charts, as new entry, in each country we played. We have a perfect team behind us and Gaby [Hoffmann, Wolf's wife and ACCEPT's manager] was right we did kind of conquer the world. But no one should forget, all this comes not by itself. Gaby is the hardest-working woman and we are the hardest-working men! But, we all are aware of the unimaginable blessing to have fans like ours, who have welcomed us in an unexpected, fantastic way."
