TYPE O NEGATIVE's JOHNNY KELLY Filling DANZIG Drum Stool for Euro Tour!

November 5, 2002

TYPE O NEGATIVE drummer Johnny Kelly will be sitting behind the kit for DANZIG during their upcoming European tour. According to Kelly, "I was contacted by the guys in DANZIG about filling in for the recently vacated drummer's position in the band. I of course, accepted the opportunity to play with DANZIG for their upcoming European tour. Being that the drum tracks for our new CD are 99% completed, I couldn't see any reason not to take DANZIG up on his offer. I've hung with Glen, Todd Youth and Howie Pyro before and they're great guys. I'm excited to be playing with these guys and getting back on the road for at least a couple of weeks. The tour begins November 21st in London and ends on December 7th in Warsaw, Poland. I have nothing but great memories of when TYPE O toured with DANZIG in 1994 and I'm really looking forward to creating some new ones on this adventure."

DANZIG's last drummer, Joey Castillo left in September to join the ultra-hot QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, with whom he is currently on tour in support of their "Songs For The Deaf" release. DANZIG subsequently announced ex-HALFCOCKED skinsman Charlee X as a replacement for Castillo, and played two Halloween dates with him in Las Vegas (Oct. 29) and San Bernardino (Oct. 31).

In related news, TYPE O NEGATIVE are due to enter Systems Two studios in Brooklyn on Monday, Nov.11 to continue work on their long-awaited follow-up to 1999's "World Coming Down".
