TURISAS Launches 'Battle Metal 2008' Video; New DVD Due In November

September 26, 2008

Finnish folk metal masters TURISAS have just kicked off a UK tour which will take them through September/October, to be followed by a tour of US and Canada in November/December until the final leg of the trek hits mainland Europe in early 2009. The band will be direct support for DRAGONFORCE, so get ready for one hell of a party!

Vocalist Warlord Nygard states: "Fresh from the first show in Oxford, we're sitting here in backstage drinking the first beers! The gig was awesome, and we're really glad to be on tour once again.

"The summer was very busy. After having got used to spending our summers at festivals around Europe for years, we faced an exciting change as this summer with most of the festival shows taking place in our home country Finland. The whole summer was caught on film and the result is our new DVD: the festival performances, the behind the scenes material, and also some interviews and other summer activities around Finland. We also made a re-recording of the track 'Battle Metal' and did a video clip to it based on material our fans had sent us.

"If you want, you can keep on sending us links to what ever material you come up with and we'll put them up on our site. Or if you want to send us something by snail mail, you can find the postal address on our site.

"The tour with DRAGONFORCE is very extensive, and will keep us busy for the coming months and take us from Britain to North-America and all across Europe.

"The brilliant new video for 'Battle Metal 2008' has been launched now. It is high time to finally have an official video-clip for this battle hymn which is also a tribute to the band’s dedicated fans (without whom there is obviously no such thing as a crowd favourite). So, watch this now [below]!"

The audio version of "Battle Metal 2008" will only be available on the limited-edition of TURISAS' first-ever DVD release "A Finnish Summer With Turisas", which will be released on the following dates:

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Italy: Friday, October 31
Spain, Portugal: Tuesday, November 4
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: Wednesday, November 5
UK, France, Greece, Denmark, Norway, rest of Europe: Monday, November 3.
