TURISAS Announces London Headlining Show

January 19, 2007

Finnish Viking metallers TURISAS have announced that they will be returning to the U.K. play a show at the Scala in London on Thursday, March 8. After much pillaging, plundering and adding to the ever-growing army of rabid followers on the LORDI tour last October, the band is excited to be playing the U.K. again.

TURISAS is currently busy in the studio putting the finishing touches to its sophomore album, which although is currently untitled, is tentatively due for release late spring/early summer 2007.

Commented TURISAS leader Warlord Nygard: "We're currently recording our new album here in Finland and it's turning out great! We played some very successful shows in the U.K. last year, and now after months in the studio it feels exciting to go out and play live again. The best part is that we get to start our new crusade in the U.K. where the reception has been overwhelming every time we played there. Maybe we even manage to get a new song or two in shape for you as a preview on the new stuff, but it's going to be tight, so no promises!"

TURISAS' debut album, "Battle Metal", was released in July 2004 through Century Media Records. "Battle Metal" was produced by Terje Refsnes (TRISTANIA, MORGUL) at Sound Suite Studios in Marseiile, France.

TURISAS has been confirmed for this year's edition of the Rock Hard Festival, set to take place May 25-27 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
