TUNGSTEN: New Album Delayed

May 28, 2005

Long-running Chalmette, Louisiana-based metallers TUNGSTEN have pushed back the projected release date of their fifth album, "If Death Doesn't Change You… Nothing Will", to June 28 from the previously announced mid-May. The CD will be released via the group's own label, Tungsten Music Records.

Commented TUNGSTEN vocalist/guitarist Al Hodge: "We're sorry we didn’t make the proposed May 2005 deadline for getting this record out. We thought we'd have it in the bag by then, but we are still reviewing/mixing all of the tracks. Mark Talamo and myself went through everything last night and did some touch ups at H/T studios (Chalmette, LA) and it seems like we are ready for the thing to get mastered. We promise to have the first single, 'Leave the Dust Behind', up and running on the site for download on June 5th, 2005."

In other news, Al Hodge's side band THE MUDDPIGGS, who also feature ex-YOUTHFUL PUKE/ex-KING FRIDAY guitarist Jamie James and vocalist Jethro Tall in their ranks, will play their first live show on June 3 in Chalmette opening for New Orleans band WE'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE HONEY, who are taking a break from recording their debut album that is being produced by former WHITE ZOMBIE guitarist Jay Yuenger in New Orleans. "This should be interesting," Hodge said. "Since TUNGSTEN has retired from the live scene, I haven't played a show in over six years. I'm looking forward to stretching those muscles again."
