TOOL Singer Issuing DVD From Side Project

January 8, 2008

The Pulse of Radio reports: TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan will release a DVD for the song and video "Queen B", from his side project PUSCIFER, on Tuesday (January 8). Keenan wrote in a post at the PUSCIFER MySpace page, "The 'Queen B' DVD is out on Tuesday. Limited edition, so get them while they last. Also working on a 7" release for 'Queen B'. Limited as well." Keenan also stated that he was working on additional videos, and added that a forthcoming 12" vinyl version of PUSCIFER's debut album, "V is for Vagina", will contain previously unreleased songs.

The "Queen B" video (see below) features some bizarre and funny animation in the style of some of TOOL's clips. Keenan told The Pulse of Radio that people often miss the sense of humor in TOOL and projects like PUSCIFER. "A lot of this project came from a comedy background, back in the mid-'90s when comedians used to gather together weekly at a club called Tantrum run by Laura Milligan and try out their new ideas," he said. "And PUSCIFER was there, you know, almost every week doing something. Yeah, so I think, you know, a lot of people miss some of the sense of humor that's presented in TOOL and PUSCIFER because it's just overshadowed by the intense subject matter. They think that's all that it's about."

Keenan did not reveal the contents of the "Queen B" DVD.

Keenan issued PUSCIFER's debut disc last October through his own label.

TOOL does not have any new tour dates announced for 2008. The band released a DVD for its track "Vicarious" last month.
