TOMMY LEE's 'College' Reality TV Show Continues To Tumble In Ratings

September 8, 2005

Jeff Korbelik of the Lincoln Journal Star is reporting that it appears America has tired of MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee's college antics. The rocker failed to post "killer" ratings for the second straight week with his NBC reality show. The fifth episode of "Tommy Lee Goes to College" drew just 4 million viewers Tuesday night to finish a distant fourth in its time slot, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The episode featured Lee fretting about finals at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The audience was its worst to date, drawing less than last week’s previous worst of 4.8 million.

"Big Brother 6" (CBS) won the 8 p.m. timeslot with 8.1 million viewers. It was followed by repeats of "According to Jim" (ABC, 6.4 million) and "Prison Break" (Fox, 6 million).

"Tommy" also ended up a distant fourth in its timeslot among viewers ages 18 to 49, the demographic advertisers consider the most important.

The reality show drew 2.3 million in the demo, trailing "Big Brother" (4.4 million),"According to Jim" (3.1 million) and "Prison Break" (3.1 million).

The final episode of "Tommy Lee Goes to College" is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
