TOMMY LEE Blasts TRUMP, Calls North Korea Visit Nothing But A Photo Op

July 2, 2019

Tommy Lee has once again blasted President Donald Trump after the former host of NBC's reality show "The Apprentice" made history Sunday when he stepped over the stone threshold that separates South Korea and North Korea, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to cross the demilitarized zone into the hermit kingdom and meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

En route back to Washington, Trump tweeted: "Leaving South Korea after a wonderful meeting with Chairman Kim Jong Un. Stood on the soil of North Korea, an important statement for all, and a great honor!"

In response, the MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer wrote: "Nothin but a press whore opportunity!"

Trump's critics have repeatedly said that his diplomatic engagement with Kim has yet to yield any real progress on the core issue of North Korea's nuclear-weapons program, including long-range missiles that are potentially capable of delivering nuclear warheads to the United States. Meanwhile, Trump's supporters have showered praise on the president for taking what — to them — signified a step toward peace.

Trump said after Sunday's meeting that they had agreed working-level talks on the North's weapons program would take place within weeks.

Early in his term, Trump belittled Kim as "Little Rocket Man" and threatened to rain "fire and fury" on North Korea if it ever made a move to use nuclear weapons.

Lee has criticized Trump a number of times in the past, including in December when he referred to the 45th U.S. president as an "asshole" and labeled his supporters "dumbasses." A year earlier, he called the president "a fucking idiot" and said the people who voted for him are "dickheads."

After Trump was elected president in November 2016, Lee expressed his disbelief on Twitter, writing: "What the actual fuck is happening?"

This past November, Tommy lambasted Trump for blaming California's recent wildfires on poor forest management. "Can you be anymore insensitive you fucking moron" Lee tweeted.

Lee admitted in a 2008 interview with CNN that he was not a political junkie and he rarely watched television or listened to news reports. "Man, tell you the truth, I only listen to music," he said.
