TIMO TOLKKI's Book To See Light Of Day In October

September 4, 2010

Former STRATOVARIUS and REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE mainman Timo Tolkki will release his long-awaited book on October 1.

In a March 2010 online posting, Tolkki stated about the upcoming book, "After a lot of thinking, feeling and getting some distance to my [recently completed] book, I have come to a conclusion that much of the book was written in anger and doesn't represent accurately how things are/were. I cannot release something like that. Specifically the parts of the book concerning some of the STRATOVARIUS members were written in much anger and even vengeance.

"I do not want to generate negativity and hatred.

"After all this time, I am thankful to the [STRATOVARIUS] guys for some of the best years and moments in my life. And I believe STRATOVARIUS deserves a really well-written book when the time is right.

"I set out to write my own book with the help of a Finnish publisher LIKE, the same that published NIGHTWISH book. Somewhere along the way, I got lost.

"If my book will ever see the light of the day, it will concentrate more on my personal life and my childhood, and, of course, music. In these things I believe that my experiences can actually be helpful to some people.

"It has not been an easy ride.

"Thank you for understanding and sorry for you who have been expecting the book. It will take more time now that I am reviewing what to actually put in there."

Tolkki drew up and signed an official waiver on May 20, 2008 giving up all rights to the STRATOVARIUS name. The remaining STRATOVARIUS members — Timo Kotipelto (vocals),Jens Johansson (keyboards) and Lauri Porra (bass) — have since recorded and released a new STRATOVARIUS album with guitarist Matias Kupiainen.
