TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS: More Details Revealed About CHRIS CAFERRY Collaboration

September 6, 2008

Guitarist Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) has revealed more information about his collaboration with singer Tim "Ripper" Owens' (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) on a song for Tim's forthcoming solo CD. Caffery writes on his MySpace blog, "[On] Thursday September 4] I went into Bob Kulick's studio to record guitars for a song I wrote with Ripper for his new solo CD. The song is called 'The Shadows Are Alive'. Frickin' heavy tune! The studio is called Office Studios. Great place, it was awesome to work with Bob and his engineer Brett. The drums were played by Simon Wright [DIO, AC/DC] and I believe bass is coming soon from Mr. Rudy Sarzo [DIO, QUIET RIOT]! Not sure of Ripper's plan of attack but he said I could let you all know about the recording... This CD is going to smoke!"

Owens's forthcoming solo album will reportedly be released before the next BEYOND FEAR CD and will also feature a guest appearance by QUEENSRŸCHE guitarist Michael Wilton, among others.

BEYOND FEAR's self-titled debut album came out in May 2006 via SPV Records.

Owens' first album as the lead singer for YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, "Perpetual Flame", will be released on October 14, 2008. The CD will be the first-ever Yngwie effort to be released via Rising Force Records (distributed via Koch).
