TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS, CRAIG GOLDY, VINNY APPICE Join Forces In BLACK KNIGHTS RISING: Dallas Concert Footage

March 10, 2015

Fan-filmed video footage of BLACK KNIGHTS RISING — the all-star band featuring guitarist Craig Goldy (DIO, GIUFFRIA, ROUGH CUTT, DIO DISCIPLES),drummer Vinny Appice (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL),bassist Elliott Rubinson (Uli Jon Roth, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, Carmine Appice) and vocalists Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DIO DISCIPLES) and John West (BADLANDS, LYNCH MOB, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) — performing on February 12 at Trees in Dallas, Texas can be seen below.

Asked to both "carry the torch" and create anew, the members of BLACK KNIGHTS RISING rise to the monumental task by delving deep into the music catalogs of DIO, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH and DEEP PURPLE. Together they breathe new life into the songs that originally made these bands so well loved.

Craig and Vinny have written, toured live and contributed to many of the classic songs, recordings and live performances of the original bands.

Originally the concept was formed in late 2013, when Goldy joined forces with producers Andrew Banks and Jeff Agins to perform as a guest guitarist during select live sets at the January NAMM convention held in Southern California. As things go during these NAMM-style jam events, he was joined by Vinny, Mark and Elliott under the temporary name of CGP, or the CRAIG GOLDY PROJECT. The band chemistry was there and the performances were top notch. Soon after these shows, the web was buzzing with videos and positive reviews. It was clear that there is an audience that wanted more and is starving to hear these amazing songs played live.
