THRESHER: 'Here I Am' Track Listing Revealed

February 24, 2009

In the mid-to-late '80s, the thrash scene was thriving in both the secular market and in the Christian market. Bands like VENGEANCE RISING, DELIVERANCE, SACRAMENT and BELIEVER were leading the pack in the Christian thrash circuit. In 1989 somewhere in Pennsylvania, a demo tape emerged that made a long-lasting impression on the Christian thrash scene. That demo was called "Totally Possessed", and the band was THRESHER. The group released and distribute only 500 copies of that first demo tape, selling it at their shows and through print magazines like Heaven's Metal. The tape caught the eye of many people in the scene and in the industry. This tape, if you can find one today, goes for quite a few bucks on sites like eBay!

After the success of the demo, the band next recorded a couple of tracks that were included on two much-sought-after compilations for REX Records. This garnered even more attention for this young and thriving band. Next, with label interest in both the Christian and secular markets, they went in and recorded what was their next and ultimately final, full-length release entitled "Here I Am".

"Here I Am" was to be their breakthrough album, and was recorded live in the studio with very few overdubs at Lifeline Studios in Pennsylvania. But ultimately the band began to deteriorate as they battled to try and balance both music and their personal lives. The album was ultimately never released and has been locked away for close to 20 years, until now!!!

After all these years, Roxx Records, in conjunction with THRESHER, is set to release this long lost treasure on May 1 in a limited-edition CD format. Eight never-before-released tracks, while locked away for years, have stood the test of time and are still relevant and stand up with the best of them in today's thrash scene. Pre-orders have begun now and the first 100 copies only will come with a bonus CD recording of that much-sought-after, highly collectible demo, "Totally Possessed".
