THE STEVE GRIMMETT BAND Replaces TONY HARNELL At U.K.'s Z ROCK 2009 Festival

March 12, 2009

THE STEVE GRIMMETT BAND — the U.K.-based group led by former GRIM REAPER/ONSLAUGHT singer Steve Grimmett — has replaced ex-TNT frontman Tony Harnell on the billing of the Z Rock 2009 festival, set to take place May 29-30, 2009 at JB's in Dudley, England.

The event organizers said in a statement: "As most of you will be aware, Tony Harnell had to cancel his appearance at Firefest due to personal commitments [Tony's mother is battling cancer — Ed.]. When booking Tony, we knew that the issue was still very much a concern for Tony, but all parties agreed that due to the time frame Z Rock was very much a possibility. Things have ran a little differently than expected and as such Tony cannot totally confirm his appearance at Z Rock 2009 and has aired his concerns regarding disappointing his fans closer to the event. We totally understand his position and wholeheartedly support his decision. Tony knows the door is open for Z Rock 09 Canada or Z Rock 2010. We hope that everyone understands his position and gives him there utmost support during this difficult time."

The festival billing is now as follows:

Friday, May 29:

Saturday, May 30:
