THE SORROW Begins Recording New Album

Austrian metallers THE SORROW have entered Principal Studios (DIE TOTEN HOSEN, IN EXTREMO) in Senden, Germany with producer Toni Meloni to begin recording their third album for a late fall release via Drakkar Records.

The first in a series of webisodes documenting the recording process can be viewed below.

Commented lead guitarist Andi Mäser: "When we recorded [2009's] 'Origin Of The Storm', a lot of things were going on besides the actual work on the album. It came into being under quite some pressure — and I do believe that to some extend the songs reflect that. Now with this one, we are very happy that we took the time to completely focus on the songwriting process and not have anything interfere with that. I know this sounds trite — but we're about to make our best record."

On working with producer Toni Meloni again, singer/guitarist Mätze Schlegel summarized, "There could not be a better producer for this band. Toni was with us since the very beginning, he's great at anticipating what musical direction we are heading for and he always pushes us to fully realize that on the album."

Before switching into writing mode for the new CD, THE SORROW played an exclusive show at the Event Center in Hohenems, Austria at the end of last year for its home fan base. The complete performance was filmed for online release.

"Origin Of The Storm" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 56 back in March 2009.

THE SORROW spent time on the road in Europe in early 2009 as the support act for Brazilian/American thrashers SEPULTURA.

The band's debut album, "Blessings from a Blackened Sky", was released in July 2007 via Drakkar Records.
