THE QUIREBOYS Announce New Drummer

November 2, 2008

UK's THE QUIREBOYS has announced the addition of drummer Phil Martini (ex-TOKYO DRAGONS) to the group's ranks. According to the band, "previous drummer Pip Mailing was unable to fully commit to [THE QUIREBOYS]' hectic touring schedule. Phil just completed ten shows in Norway and Spain with the QBs and will make his first UK appearance at Guitarfest at the NEC on Friday, November 7th."

Fan-filmed video footage of THE QUIREBOYS' October 25, 2008 concert in Barcelona, Spain — featuring new drummer Phil Martini — can be viewed below.

EMI Records recently released "The Best Of" from THE QUIREBOYS, a double CD of material from the band's EMI-era recordings. It contains many previously unreleased tracks and rarities and is available at a budget price.

THE QUIREBOYS' new album, "Homewreckers & Heartbreakers", was made available in stores on June 23 via Townsend Records. The CD was mixed at Good Luck studios in London with Mark Wallis, who has previously worked with TRAVIS and U2. According to a posting on the group's web site, "this album sees the band returning to their roots with a more varied selection of styles than 'Well Oiled' [2004]."
