THE QUILL: In Writing Mode

Sweden's THE QUILL, the band featuring current SPIRITUAL BEGGARS/ex-FIREBIRD bassist Roger Nilsson and ex-FIREBIRD drummer Jolle Atlagic, have been writing new material for the past six months, according to an update issued by guitarist Christian Carlsson. "By now we have about 10 brand-new killer tunes ready and about four-five more to come," he writes. "Three of them, 'Whole', 'In the Shadows I Belong' and 'Howl At the Moon', have been recorded on a demo as well. Unfortunately we still don't know when the recording sessions of the next album can begin. As soon as everything regarding record companies and stuff is sorted out, we'll let you know."

THE QUILL's fourth album, titled "Hooray! It's a Deathtrip", was released in September 2003 through SPV Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Voodoo Caravan" was produced by Rickard Bengtsson (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS) and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH).
