Dutch death metallers THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT have been confirmed for the Baggerfest, set to take place March 30, 2007 at Lucky in Rijssen (close to the German border), Holland. Also scheduled to appear are SUFFOCATION, ENSIFERUM and GODDESS OF DESIRE.
In other news, THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT has been added to the billing of the No Mercy Festivals concert in Tilburg, Netherlands on April 9, 2007. Other bands that will perform that day include MOONSPELL, OBITUARY, BEHEMOTH and EXTREME NOISE TERROR.
THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT recently inked a new deal with Mascot Records. The band will enter Ground Zero studio with producer Pascal Altena to begin recording its new album, tentatively due next spring. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Androgynous One", "Laodicean Hunger", "Coldness Wraps this Suffering Clay", "Master of the Bryansk Forst", "Wrath of the Ba'ath", "The Way Forward" and "K-141 Kursk". Mixing and mastering duties will be handled by Guido Aalbers. A demo version of the track "Laodicean Hunger" can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
