THE IRON MAIDENS Fill In For Snowed In PAUL DI'ANNO In Redondo Beach

January 3, 2011

THE IRON MAIDENS, the world's only female tribute to the legendary heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN, saved the day in Redondo Beach, California last night. Original IRON MAIDEN frontman Paul Di'Anno and his backing band (composed of members of ICARUS WITCH) were scheduled to perform at Brixton/Dive yesterday but were snowed in on the California Grapevine coming from Santa Rosa and were unable to make it to the venue in time. Rather than let the Di'Anno/MAIDEN fans leave disappointed, the girls quickly rallied and went from spectators to performers in no time as four of the female bandmembers who happened to be in the audience jumped on stage and delivered a ninety-plus-minute set of IRON MAIDEN classics as a four-piece on backline thrown together from Brixton/Dive house gear and the opening band NINTH CIRCLE's equipment. Also lending a helping hand was MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell and original ANTHRAX singer Neil Turbin who jammed with THE IRON MAIDENS on some songs and made sure that the crowd left happy.

THE IRON MAIDENS in attendance and on stage last night were Kirsten "Bruce Chickinson" Rosenberg, Linda "Nikki McBURRain" McDonald, Wanda "Steph Harris" Ortiz and Courtney "Adriana Smith" Cox.

THE IRON MAIDENS filmed and recorded of all five of its Japanese "Metal Gathering" tour dates in January 2010 for a live DVD and CD, to be released before later this year.

Formed in 2001, THE IRON MAIDENS comprises excellent musicianship with an elaborate stage show with effects and appearances from IRON MAIDEN mascot "Eddie" and other theatrical characters that have gained the band national and international recognition.
