THE HAUNTED Frontman's Novel Published In Swedish

May 4, 2011

THE HAUNTED vocalist Peter Dolving has just released his first Swedish-language novel, "Sieg Heil Svensson", via King Ink Frlag. The 145-page pocket book edition was made available on May 2. According to the official book description, "'Sieg Heil Svensson' is a statement against traditional Swedish morals and ideals. It's also an honest, revealing and riveting story of a childhood filled with abuse, violence and drugs."

When asked about what sort of family he comes from, Dolving told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine in the May 2011 issue, "I come from a working-class family raggedly torn by generations of alcoholism, painkillers, overwork, self-loathing and power abuse."

Regarding his childhood and teenage years, Dolving said, "At home I had, on one hand, a great deal of love, but on the other, it was very abusive and I was beaten as a kid. It was also a very verbally abusive environment. But honestly, except for that, I really had a good time.

"I'm a pretty enthusiastic dude and I've partied hard and played a lot, motocross riding, breaking into houses and running around with the prettiest girl in town. I wanted to have a good time and see where the action was at. It was extremely eventful."

On the topic of his reputation for being outspoken, Dolving said, "I'm always shooting my mouth off because I care; I have a heart and a brain that actually functions, which is actually a miracle. [Laughs] I am baffled that more people don't actually do it, because there's a great deal to talk about.

"What most people don't know is that I don't always believe I am in the right.

"One of the reasons I shoot my mouth off is I want to get your opinion. I wanna know what you think.

"People often believe they actually have an opinion, but they are just reacting and a reaction is not an opinion. A reaction is defending a whole value system of who you believe you are, but opinion is based on factual understanding of existing information."
