THE HAUNTED Frontman: CRADLE OF FILTH Singer Turned Band Into 'Silly Circus Sideshow'

December 6, 2005

THE HAUNTED vocalist Peter Dolving stands by his previously published comments about CRADLE OF FILTH even though he admits that he sometimes "go[es] a little overboard letting [his] emotions speak."

In an interview with the metal show "Pyro" on Norwegian national radio NRK P3 (web site),which aired November 29, 2005, Dolving had the following to say about CRADLE OF FILTH (translated from Swedish): "They are such whores. Everybody from the band, crew, tour-management — they are all cunts. They are my asswipe. CRADLE OF FILTH ain't worth the inside of my large intestine. They are the lowest of the scum. They are lousy musicians, they write shit music, they are swindlers. They fool their audience into buying too expensive t-shirts. They are greedy, they are losers, fucking zeroes, they are pathetic. They are a bunch of phoney fags with colored hair. That's it. Fuck them!"

In a follow-up message posted on THE HAUNTED's official forum, Dolving offered no apologies for making the above statement: "OK, I said it. I specifically remember thinking during the interview, 'I have to talk to Adrian [Erlandsson, former AT THE GATES/THE HAUNTED drummer, currently in CRADLE OF FILTH] so he knows I'm not talking about him.

"But I do stand by my statement in most ways, although I admit I sometimes go a little overboard letting my emotions speak.

"Mainly my thing is about Dani Filth [CRADLE OF FILTH frontman] and his little entourage of 'YES' sayers. CRADLE used to be a really cool band, extreme for real — I mean that's the reason Adrian joined in the first place.

"But I feel Dani's lost his real passion for the art, the music and turned it into a silly circus sideshow with money for main motivation.

"Hey, what do I know? I'm a loudmouth and yes I often speak before I think.

"And there it is...

"P.S.: Adrian is my friend I love him like a brother and my feeling about the band he works for has NOTHING to do with my respect and love for HIM."
