THE HAUNTED, BURST, Ex-KYUSS Members Join Forces In New Project

August 11, 2009

According to Christoffer Jonsson of Sweden's Close-Up magazine, a new, as-yet-unnamed band has been formed featuring Peter Dolving (THE HAUNTED),Jesper Liveröd (NASUM, BURST) and Scott Reeder (KYUSS). No further information is currently available.

THE HAUNTED is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Versus", which entered the Swedish chart at position No. 14 and the Finnish chart at No. 12.The CD was recorded in part at PUK studio in Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, etc),who previously worked with the group on its two previous LPs, "rEVOLVEr" (2004) and "The Dead Eye" (2006).

BURST recently announced plans to disband following a "best-of" performance in Sweden in the fall. The group will embark on its first — and last — U.S. tour immediately following the band's appearance at the Planet Caravan festival in Asheville, North Carolina on September 19. The trek will run through October 10. According to the group, "Half the tour BURST and opener ZOROASTER will be gigging with the draconian French metal philosophers GOJIRA on their METALLICA off dates, half the tour we'll do our own shows with ZOROASTER."

BURST's latest album, "Lazarus Bird", was released last September via Relapse Records. The CD was recorded at Studio Bohussound (STATUS QUO, ABBA) in Kungälv, Sweden. The follow-up to 2005's "Origo" was once again tracked with engineer Fredrik Reinedahl (OPETH, IN FLAMES, GADGET).
