THE BERZERKER: New Album Nearing Completion

July 5, 2005

Australian industrial death metal phenomenon THE BERZERKER are hard at work on their third album, tentatively titled "World of Lies", due later in the year via Earache Records. The band's mainman Luke Kenny has issued the following update on the album's recording process:

"The third BERZERKER album, titled 'World of Lies', is nearing completion. All of the lyrics and music have finally been completed. All that's left now is some final vocal recordings, adding sounds and samples and the final mix.

"I'm amazingly happy with the new material, the guitar and bass tones are the best to date. All vocals — both high and low — have been performed by myself and is super tight.

"We have definitely captured something very special on this album. 'World of Lies' is filled with HUGE riffs supplied by the two guitarists that recorded on the first album, Adrian (from the Melbourne band DEMON OTHER) and the ever-reliable Sam who has stuck by me from the very beginning. Lyrically the new album is a punishing attack on an unnamed individual that inspired the album title.

“The music has really taken on a life of its own with all the elements and classic feel of the early '90s death metal bands that started it all. Nothing has been lost, THE BERZERKER will never tire. The new album is more what you know and what you'e grown to love... 'World of Lies' bigger, better, faster, stronger, louder!!!

“The time is almost upon you. Prepare yourself for a 'new' journey into a world each new step will give you a better understanding of your own reality."
